Delhi High Court Takes Action Against Deepfake Videos of Medanta Hospital and Dr. Naresh Trehan

Dr. Naresh Trehan, along with Medanta Hospital, has moved to court alleging that deepfake videos forging Dr. Trehan’s endorsement of false natural cures for urological issues have been circulated on Facebook.

The Delhi High Court, in consideration of the cases, issued orders for the withdrawal of deep fakes to protect the public and safeguard the reputation of Dr. Trehan.

Justice Mini Pushkarna while passing down the order also issued a takedown of the videos within a duration of 24 hours and mandated further action to be taken by Meta Inc. A dynamic injunction was also granted to prevent future violations.
