Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav approached the Delhi High Court to contest a trial court order framing charges in the alleged IRCTC scam.
The order had framed corruption, criminal conspiracy, and cheating charges against him, and criminal conspiracy and cheating against Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, and many others.
The CBI alleged that land worth crores was transferred to a company allegedly linked to Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav at undervalued rates.
The trial court noted possible tender interference, multiple smaller conspiracies and large public exchequer loss, and held the transaction was prima facie fraudulent, not entirely hidden, and discharge cannot be granted at this stage, dismissing the discharge request.
