Delhi High Court Transfers ANI’s Copyright Suit Against YouTuber Mohak Mangal to Itself

The Delhi High Court, led by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, allowed YouTuber Mohak Mangal’s plea to transfer ANI’s copyright and trademark infringement case from a district court to the High Court.

ANI opposed the transfer, arguing that the copyright suit differs from its ongoing defamation case against Mangal in the High Court.

However, Senior Advocate Diya Kapur submitted that both suits involve identical legal and factual issues related to trademark and copyright infringement. 

The Court agreed, highlighting the risk of conflicting judgments. ANI alleges unauthorized use of its videos and logo by Mangal, seeking an injunction and ₹50 lakh in damages.
