The Delhi High Court has issued an interim order protecting Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s personality rights, restraining entities from using his name, image, voice, or likeness commercially without his consent.
The Court directed defendant websites and “John Doe” litigants to disable infringing URLs within 72 hours. It also asked the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Telecommunications to issue necessary takedown directives.
The order noted that unauthorised use via AI, social media, or merchandise could mislead public perception about Nagarjuna’s endorsement or association.
