Delhi High Court: OBC Certificate Based on Father’s UP Caste Valid for Delhi Quota

The Delhi High Court ruled that an OBC certificate issued by the Delhi government cannot be treated as a "migrant" certificate solely because it is based on the aspirant’s father's caste certificate from Uttar Pradesh.

The Division Bench stated that the certificate, which identifies the aspirant as belonging to the Jat community recognised as OBC in Delhi, must be accepted at face value.

The Court criticised the DSSSB for rejecting her OBC claim without prior notice and affirmed her right to OBC reservation in Delhi recruitment.
