Dhanush Sues Nayanthara & Netflix for Copyright Infrigement

Actor Dhanush has filed a legal case against Nayanthara, Netflix India & others, alleging copyright infringement because the trailer of Nayanthara’s documentary, "Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale” included a three-second BTS clip from the “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” 2015 movie, without Dhanush’s consent.

Dhanush is seeking ₹10 crores in compensation and has requested the removal of the content. The case, filed under Section 51 of the Copyright Act, 1957, is being heard by the Madras High Court.

The court has directed all parties to respond to the allegations.
