Delhi Court Warns Doctor Against Superstitious Rituals Amid Dowry Death Trial

A Delhi Court has taken serious note of a murder-accused doctor allegedly sprinkling rice grains outside the courtroom, which his family claimed was a "ritual for acquittal." 

The doctor, arrested in a 2021 dowry death case, was seen on CCTV performing the act, prompting the judge to seek a report from jail authorities.

The Prosecution argued it could be an attempt to influence proceedings, while the defence called it a religious practice.

The Court has warned against any superstitious tactics that may obstruct justice. The next hearing will examine the incident further.
