Eicher Motors Hit with ₹12.8 Crore GST Order Due to Tax Evasion

Eicher Motors Limited faces GST demand orders totaling ₹12.8 crores from multiple tax authorities.

The demands are for tax and penalties from 2017 to 2022 due to reasons like blocked credits and credit mismatches. 

The orders have been issued under Sections 73 and 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, which deal with tax recovery in cases involving errors, fraud, or suppression of facts.

Section 73 covers tax recovery without intent to defraud, while Section 74 pertains to cases involving deliberate tax evasion. 

Eicher Motors is expected to respond to these orders either by contesting them legally or settling the dues.
