The Jammu & Kashmir High Court has disbarred Sajad Ahmad Shah, a Srinagar-based advocate, for practising law with a fake LL.B. degree for nearly 16 years.
Shah was enrolled with the Bar Council on July 17, 2009, and officially listed in 2010.
Following an investigation, the Admission and Enrollment Committee found his degree to be forged. A resolution nullifying his enrollment was passed on April 29, 2025.
The High Court confirmed the cancellation through a May 13 notification and directed all courts in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to publicly display the order for public awareness.
