A Mumbai family court granted divorce to Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma. The decision followed a Bombay High Court order directing the family court to decide the matter promptly due to Chahal’s upcoming IPL commitments.
Under the divorce terms, Chahal must pay ₹4.75 crores in alimony in two installments. The High Court had earlier waived the six-month cooling-off period, citing that the couple had been separated since June 2022 and had reached a mediation agreement.
Chahal and Verma had filed a mutual consent divorce petition on February 5, which was initially delayed due to partial compliance with alimony payments.
