Farmers protest at Shambhu border

Thousands of farmers from Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are marching to Delhi to intensify pressure on the government, continuing the 2020 protests.

Security at the Shambhu border in Haryana has been increased with Section 163 BNSS imposed, amid fears of clashes if crossing is denied. This is the third attempt in 10 months for farmers to march to Delhi, following protests in February.

Farmer unions are demanding a legal guarantee for MSP, citing unmet promises from the 2020-21 protests. They seek MSP at 50% above production costs, along with case withdrawals, pensions, loan waivers, and subsidy reforms.
