Adani Gag Order Appeals Transferred to Judge Who Previously Lifted Similar Injunctions

The appeals of Newslaundry and journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta against a gag order on their Adani reporting have been transferred to a judge who previously lifted a similar order for other journalists, ensuring consistency in rulings.

District Judge Sunil Chaudhary of Delhi’s Rohini Court rejected objections from Adani’s counsel and directed the transfer.

The gag order stems from a civil defamation suit filed by Adani Enterprises.

The court has scheduled the matter for hearing on 23rd September, 2025.
