The Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC) has appointed former Additional Solicitor General of India, Senior Advocate Pinky Anand, to its panel of judges.
Modelled on the Singapore International Commercial Court, the BICC will commence operations on November 5 with a 17-member bench, including seven women judges.
Anand, who served as ASG between 2014 and 2020, brings over four decades of legal expertise and has acted as an arbitrator in several international forums.
Her appointment, confirmed through Bahrain’s official gazette, allows her to continue practising in India while serving on the BICC, which will adjudicate cross-border commercial disputes in English and Arabic.
