CM Presents Panel Report Proposing Land Grab Law for Goa

A commission led by Justice V.K. Jadhav (Retd.) has proposed The Goa Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act to prohibit and penalise land grabbing in the state, similar to other states. 

The law will make land grabbing a punishable offence, including selling, allotting, or even instigating such crimes. Companies and their officials will also be held accountable.

A special court will be set up for speedy trials, with a public prosecutor appointed by the government.

The court’s decision will be final, overriding the Code of Civil Procedure,1908; ensuring quick resolution of disputes and stronger land protection in Goa.
