Google sets up GSEC in Hyderabad

The Telangana government has partnered with Google to set up a Safety Engineering Centre (GSEC) in Hyderabad.

This will be the first of its kind in India and the second in the Asia-Pacific region, after one in Tokyo. It will also be the fifth centre globally, joining others in Dublin, Munich, and Malaga.

The GSEC aims to create jobs and improve cybersecurity skills. The centre will focus on developing advanced cybersecurity products specifically for India. It will emphasize research and AI-driven solutions.

Hyderabad is already a major IT hub and GSEC will commence its operations from February 2025.
