The Gujarat High Court on July 23 strongly objected to a High Court vehicle allegedly being driven on the wrong side of the road, stressing that no authority is above the law.
A bench of Justices AS Supehia and RT Vachchani, hearing a contempt plea linked to a 2017 PIL on traffic violations, urged police to act against all offenders, regardless of their official status or vehicle number plate.
“Not even my driver will be spared,” Justice Supehia said, adding such incidents damage public trust. The matter will be heard next on July 30.
