The Gujarat High Court commended the Bar Council of India (BCI) for granting a one-time enrollment relief to law graduates from certain grant-in-aid colleges, whose institutes had not paid retrospective recognition fees.
The BCI’s resolution allows these LL.B. holders provisional enrolment through the 2025–26 academic session, subject to conditions.
The Court noted its appreciation of the Bar Council for accepting its suggestions in the “right spirit.”
The Court directed the colleges and the universities to comply, clarifying that the relief will not apply to law graduates from the 2026 -27 academic session onwards. The plea was disposed of after the order.
