The Gujarat High Court has directed the State Education Board to clearly mark which questions in Class 10 and 12 exams are meant for visually impaired students.
The order came after a petitioner complained of confusing instructions in a Class 10 Basic Mathematics paper, which led her to attempt questions not meant for her.
While the court found no actual prejudice in this case, it stressed that ambiguous instructions could confuse students.
The court ordered that future question papers must clearly list questions intended only for visually impaired candidates, both in the general instructions and alongside the relevant questions themselves.
