Gujarat HC Warns Officers Over Non-Implementation of Traffic/Illegal Parking Despite Orders

The Gujarat High Court expressed disappointment over the state government and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's failure to implement an effective traffic and illegal parking policy despite 62 court orders since 2017.

The court warned of framing charges against responsible officers for repeated non-compliance.

It criticized authorities for only acting when compelled by the court, noting that policies like the Parking Policy 2021 and Gujarat Road Safety Authority Act 2018 remain poorly implemented. 

The government assured compliance, and the court has scheduled the next hearing for 3 February to monitor progress and ensure enforcement.
