Gujarat High Court Denies Bail To Man Accused Of Manufacturing Commercial Quantity Drug

The Gujarat High Court denied regular bail to Pragnesh Thummar, accused of manufacturing 1011.82 grams of Mephedrone (a synthetic stimulant drug) in a commercial quantity under the Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act).

The Court highlighted that drug offenses are a growing menace affecting the youth, necessitating stringent bail conditions under Section 37 of Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act).

Considering Thummar's alleged role as the main manufacturer and substantial evidence against him, the Court rejected the bail plea.
