Gujarat High Court Extends Asaram Bapu’s Interim Medical Bail Till August 21

The Gujarat High Court has extended interim medical bail for self-styled godman and rape convict Asaram Bapu till August 21, citing his critical condition in ICU at Jupiter Hospital, Indore, with high troponin levels.

Despite earlier refusals, the Court granted relief after the Supreme Court allowed Asaram to approach it. 

This marks his third interim bail during life sentences in two rape cases, one involving a woman disciple from Surat and another a minor in Rajasthan. 

Asaram was convicted by a Gandhinagar court in 2013 for repeated sexual assault.
