Gujarat HC Notices ISKCON Priests Over Father’s Illegal Detention Claim

The Gujarat HC had issued notices to the State Government, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner, Meghaninagar Police Inspector, nine ISKCON priests of the International society for Krishna consciousness in response to a habeas corpus  petition from a father claiming his daughter eloped with an ISKCON priest, allegedly after being brainwashed and drugged.

The father, an ex-armyman, alleges that his daughter left on July 27, 2024, taking 230 gm gold and Rs 3.62 lakh cash, from the petitioner house and is being illegally confined in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

 The matter is next listed on January 9, 2025.
