Gujarat High Court Imposes Fine of Rs 2 Lakh on Man Attending Virtual Hearing From Lavatory

The Gujarat High Court imposed costs of Rs. 2 Lakh on a 42-year-old man who joined a virtual hearing from the lavatory in an indecent manner. The court observed the activity was unacceptable and lowered the court's dignity.

The court said that such scenarios required to be strictly condemned and if courts do not deal with such a person then it may result in lowering the dignity of the institution in the public's eyes. 

Since it was his first time using the High Court’s website, he unintentionally made an error, but the court could not accept it. Furthermore, the court imposed an exemplary cost of Rs. 2 Lakh.
