Gurugram Court Orders ₹55 Lakh Damages Against Retnec for Microsoft Trademark Infringement and Fraud

A Gurugram commercial court awarded Microsoft ₹55 lahks in damages after Retnec Solutions Pvt Ltd was found guilty of trademark infringement and running a fraudulent call centre using Microsoft's trademarks like "HOTMAIL," "OUTLOOK," and "OFFICE 365". 

The court issued a permanent injunction, ordered the destruction of infringing materials, and directed Retnec to pay ₹20.6 lakh in litigation costs.

Microsoft had filed the suit for unfair trade practices and passing off, alleging that Retnec deceived customers through fake technical support services.

The court also directed the defendants to cease these fraudulent activities and hand over all infringing materials.
