
The Bombay High Court granted ad-interim relief to hair stylist Jawed Habib in an intellectual property dispute against Rashid Molla, former franchisee holder; and restrained Rashid Molla from using trademark and copyright materials of Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty Limited until the final hearing.
Jawed Habib and Beauty Limited was incorporated in 2006 and hence secured the trade name “Jawed Habib”.
The franchisee agreement between Molla and the company got terminated due to non-payment of royalties.
Molla failed to clear dues and continued to use registered trademark and artistic works despite issuance of 2 reminder notices in 2022.
The next hearing is scheduled for March 25, 2025.
