Delhi HC Restrains Scholars Den from Using 'Sasta Wallah' Against Physics Wallah in Ads

The Delhi High Court has temporarily restrained coaching institute Scholars Den from using the phrase "Sasta Wallah" in its advertisements or public communication targeting Physics Wallah.

Physics Wallah, a competing edtech platform, claimed that Scholars Den’s social media ads used the term to portray it as inferior due to its lower pricing, amounting to brand disparagement and reputational harm.

The injunction was passed under Order 39 Rules 1 and 2 CPC, which allow temporary relief in civil disputes to prevent further damage.

The matter is next listed for hearing in April 2025.
