HDFC Bank MD and CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan has approached the Supreme Court seeking to quash an FIR filed by Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust alleging a ₹2.05 crore bribe and misusing his position to influence the Trust’s internal affairs.
The FIR, registered under Sections 406, 409, and 420 of the IPC, also alleges that Jagdishan received undue benefits, including free medical treatment, and attempted to suppress evidence under the guise of CSR contributions.
Jagdishan, represented by Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, claims the case is frivolous and linked to ongoing financial disputes.
After Bombay High Court benches recused themselves, he sought urgent intervention from the Supreme Court.
