Hero MotoCorp Hit with ₹26.40 Crore Tax Demand After Income Assessment

On 31st December 2024, an order was passed by the Deputy Commissioner under Section 143(3), read with Section 144C of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for the assessment year 2020-21.

This Order was based on an examination by the Tax officer in the Income-tax return filed by Hero MotoCorp Limited for the same AY on December 31, 2020.

After the examination, an additional Rs 96.5 crore was added to the income of the Company, which led to an additional income tax demand of Rs. 26.4 crore (approx.).

Hero MotoCorp has responded, stating that the company plans to appeal the order and file a rectification application.
