The Himachal Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition by students of Sardar Patel University challenging the relocation of the university infrastructure to another college.
Justice Ajay Mohan Goel held that the decisions regarding infrastructure lie solely with the State Higher Education Council, Department of Higher Education, and the State Government.
The students had opposed a directive to transfer the building to another college, citing inconvenience and unresolved expectations.
The Court found the petitioners lacked locus standi, noting infrastructure allocation is a policy matter and that alternate facilities had been arranged. The plea was accordingly dismissed.
