YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Espionage Case

YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Hisar court after completing her nine-day police remand.

She was arrested on May 16 under the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives.  

Investigators have recovered 13 terabytes of data from her electronic devices, including five mobile phones and a laptop, which are under forensic analysis.  

While no evidence has been found linking her to terrorist activities or access to military secrets, authorities are examining her financial records and digital communications.  

The court has scheduled her next hearing for June 9, 2025.
