Honasa and Hindustan Unilever Amicable Settlement Over Sunscreen Advertisement Dispute Before Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court recorded a settlement between Honasa Consumer Limited (Mamaearth’s parent) and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) in an ad disparagement dispute.

Justice Amit Bansal disposed of Honasa’s suit after both parties confirmed compliance with undertakings.

The dispute arose over HUL’s "SPF Lie Detector Test" campaign, which allegedly implied Honasa’s sunscreen made false SPF claims. Both sides agreed to withdraw the contested advertisements and modify or remove related online and social media content.

The Court directed a 50% refund of court fees to Honasa. HUL will also request the Bombay High Court to dispose of its parallel suit based on identical settlement terms.
