IKEA Secures Interim Injunction Against IKEY for Trademark Infringement

IKEA filed a trademark infringement case against IKEY Home Studio for using marks like ‘IKEY’ and ‘IKEY Home Studio,’ which are similar to IKEA’s globally recognized trademark. IKEA discovered IKEY’s trademark applications for unrelated products, leading to concerns of consumer confusion.

IKEA argued that IKEY’s use of similar marks could mislead consumers into thinking their products were related to IKEA. IKEY denied any infringement. IKEA showed its well-known trademark status globally and the risk of irreparable harm.

The Delhi High Court granted an ex-parte interim injunction, preventing IKEY from using the marks and suspending its domain name. The case is scheduled for further hearing on May 9, 2025.
