Kerala Nurse Nimisha Priya to Be Executed in Yemen on July 16 for 2017 Murder

Nimisha Priya, a nurse from Kerala, is scheduled to be executed in Yemen on July 16 after being convicted of murdering her former business partner, Talal Abdo Mehdi, in 2017.

The two had jointly operated a clinic, and reports allege Nimisha faced abuse before the incident. 

Social worker Samuel Jerome Baskaran, involved in negotiating with Talal’s family for a pardon, confirmed the execution date.

Her mother, Prema Kumari, has been in Yemen for a year seeking mercy. The Indian government stated it remains in touch with Yemeni authorities and continues to monitor the case.
