Influencer Was Denied Bail for Selling Harmful Hair Oil Without Clinical Testing: Punjab & Haryana HC

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has denied anticipatory bail to Amandeep Singh, a hair stylist and social media influencer, for selling a hair oil that allegedly caused severe allergic reactions to several users.

The Court observed that advertising a product with misleading claims, without clinical testing or scientific backing, must be strictly condemned. It highlighted the mental health risks posed by unrealistic beauty standards propagated by online influencers.

Over 70 people reported eye irritation after using the oil at a promotional event. 

The Court stressed the need to ensure product safety before marketing and held that public health must be protected.
