Supreme Court Bars Law Interns from Entering Courtrooms on Mon, Tue & Friday to Curb Overcrowding

Law interns will no longer be allowed inside Supreme Court courtrooms on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, days reserved for miscellaneous hearings.

The Supreme Court took this step after the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) raised concerns over overcrowding, which it said was hampering movement and causing inconvenience to lawyers.

A notification issued by the Registry on July 30 confirmed the new restrictions.

Interns will still have access to court premises and corridors throughout the week, but courtroom access will now be restricted to regular hearing days, Wednesdays and Thursdays, to ease congestion.
