IRDAI Alerts Public To Fraudulent Consumer Education Website

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has warned the public about a fake website, “policyholdergov.org,” that is impersonating its official portal.

The fraudulent site uses IRDAI’s logo and those of the Department of Financial Services, india.gov.in, and the Insurance Ombudsman to appear legitimate, and is soliciting premium payments and personal data.

IRDAI clarified that it never collects premiums or conducts transactions through its portal, which is meant only for consumer education and grievance redressal. It advised users to avoid the fake website and rely solely on policyholder.gov.in for authentic information.
