Jammu & Kashmir High Court Denies Job To Candidate for Signing Form in Capital Letters

The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court upheld the government’s decision to deny appointment to Vikki Kumar as a constable in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for signing his application form in capital letters.

Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul noted that the recruitment brochure clearly required signatures in running hand, and forms signed in capital letters were liable for rejection.

Despite clearing all stages of the selection process, Kumar’s application was cancelled for non-compliance with this mandatory instruction. The Court held that the signature rule ensured verification authenticity, and failure to follow it justified rejection.

Consequently, the Court dismissed Kumar’s petition as meritless.
