Jammu & Kashmir High Court Orders Return of Woman Deported to Pakistan After Pahalgam Attack

The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has directed the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to bring back Rakshanda Rashid, a woman deported to Pakistan after the April Pahalgam terror attack.

Rashid, who had lived in Jammu for 38 years with her husband and children on a long-term visa, was deported on April 30 despite her pending case.

Justice Rahul Bharti emphasised the need for humanitarian intervention, noting her deteriorating health and lack of family support in Pakistan.

The court ordered her return within 10 days and scheduled the next hearing for a compliance report on July 1, 2025.
