Jharkhand High Court Issues Notice to Centre, State on Plea to Preserve Parasnath Hill’s Sancity

The Jharkhand High Court has sent notices to both the Central and State governments regarding a petition aimed at protecting Parasnath Hill as a holy site for the Jain community and free from activities that could undermine its religious significance. 

This petition, submitted by the Jyot religious trust from Ahmedabad, expresses worries about actions that may damage the site's religious significance.

The petition points out previous government promises to safeguard the area and raises concerns about the absence of public input on recent changes.

The court has instructed the authorities to respond before the next hearing scheduled for February 19, 2025.
