Gonda Judge Issues Notice Over Serving Stale Snacks to Visiting Judge

A judge in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, issued a notice to a staff member over the alleged deliberate serving of stale dalmoth (namkeen) to a visiting Civil Judge (Junior Division) during a break in chambers.

Initially asked to bring tea and biscuits, the staffer returned only with tea. Upon being asked again, he served spoiled snacks with a foul smell, despite two containers of quality biscuits being available.

The judge termed the act “serious negligence” and directed the staffer to submit a written explanation for his conduct.
