Justice Manmohan Urges Government to Act on Disability Rights Instead of Leaving Everything to Judiciary

At a Justice Sunanda Bhandare Foundation event, Supreme Court Justice Manmohan urged that the implementation of disability rights must not be left entirely to the judiciary. 

He pointed out that while courts have intervened to uphold rights, the executive and legislature must take proactive steps to ensure effective enforcement.

Justice Manmohan highlighted systemic gaps in infrastructure, policy, and execution, stressing that real change requires commitment from government institutions.

Courts alone cannot bear the burden of enforcement and monitoring. All state organs must work together with empathy and commitment to ensure meaningful change.
