The Ministry of Law and Justice has appointed Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court following the retirement of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya.
The appointment comes on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. Born on May 25, 1965, Justice Chandrashekhar earned his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, in 1993 and enrolled with the Delhi State Bar Council the same year.
He practised on both civil and criminal sides in Delhi for 19 years, handling nearly 3,500 cases, mostly before the Supreme Court.
