Supreme Court Justice Vikram Nath Endorses Responsible Use of AI in Arbitration

Justice Vikram Nath of the Supreme Court has advocated for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in arbitral proceedings to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making.

Speaking at the Delhi Arbitration Weekend (DAW) 2025, he highlighted AI’s potential in document review, precedent research, and predicting outcomes. 

However, he cautioned against over-reliance, emphasising that human judgment remains essential in legal reasoning and cannot be replaced by technology.
