The Karnataka High Court refused to grant bail to a man accused of human trafficking and illegal immigration, noting that he allegedly obtained an Indian passport using a fake Aadhaar card and travelled to Bangladesh five times.
The Court observed that two Aadhaar cards were issued in the accused’s name on the same day with different addresses, indicating fabrication.
It also noted that the passport was procured on the basis of these documents and that the accused had strong links with Bangladesh.
Considering the risk of absconding, the Court held that no grounds for bail were made out and dismissed the appeal.
