Karnataka HC Dismisses Wife’s Claim of Husband’s Preference for Pet Over Her

The Karnataka High Court dismissed a case filed by a wife who claimed that her husband cared more for their pet cat than for her.

Justice M. Nagaprasanna pointed out that her complaints did not involve serious issues like dowry demands or physical abuse under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The judge noted that the wife's claims were mainly about arguments over the husband's attention to their cat, rather than actual cruelty.

He stated that allowing such trivial cases to go forward could overload the already busy justice system.
