The Karnataka High Court has extended the deadline to halt bike taxi operations, including Rapido, till June 15.
This follows Rapido's plea, highlighting ongoing discussions with the State government to formulate a comprehensive policy on bike taxis.
The earlier April 2 order had directed a complete ban within six weeks unless a policy was introduced. Rapido argued that over six lakh drivers would be affected and that bike taxis enhance urban mobility.
The State informed the Court that it is actively working on new guidelines, which may allow for legalisation and regulation of bike taxi services. The matter will be heard next on June 10.
