Karnataka High Court Grants Interim Bail to RCB Official & Others in Bengaluru Stampede Case

The Karnataka High Court granted interim bail to RCB marketing head Nikhil Sosale, DNA Entertainment VP Sunil Mathew, and two others in the Bengaluru stampede case.

The Court noted their June 6 arrests were illegal, made without warrants, without being named in the FIR, and without informing them of the arrest grounds for over 10 hours, violating Article 22(1) and Section 41 CrPC.

The Court also dismissed the State’s claim that the CID’s takeover justified the delay, calling it a misuse of a 2015 circular. Bail was granted with conditions, including a passport deposit and full cooperation.
