Karnataka High Court Orders Govt to Make Cyber Command Centre Fully Functional, Free from Political Influence

The Karnataka High Court directed the State Government to ensure the Cyber Command Centre (CCC) becomes fully operational, not just existing on paper. Justice M. Nagaprasanna stressed it must be robust, people-friendly, and insulated from political interference.

The Court insisted that senior police officers heading the CCC should enjoy stability, with transfers only in exceptional cases after consultation and also ordered the integration of the 1930 national cybercrime helpline into the CCC framework.

Noting that cybercrime cases in Karnataka have risen from 8,396 in 2021 to nearly 30,000 in 2025, the court sought a progress report by September 24.
