The Karnataka High Court rejected a mother’s plea seeking psychiatric evaluation of her adult daughter, who is residing with her partner.
The Court observed that the woman had clearly stated she was living with her partner out of her own free will and did not require any mental health assessment.
During the proceedings, the woman informed the Court that she had earlier made allegations against her partner under pressure from her parents and certain Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) members.
The Bench held that no grounds existed to order a mental evaluation and disposed of the petition accordingly.
