The Karnataka High Court has stayed the suspension of Deputy Secretary K J Jalajakshi, who was accused of not displaying Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s photo during a Constitution Day event on November 26, 2024.
The suspension was issued on July 4, 2025, under Rule 10(1)(d) of the Karnataka Civil Services (CCA) Rules, 1957, citing dereliction of duty.
Jalajakshi argued he was not responsible for organising the event, and the order lacked proper reasoning. He also alleged the suspension aimed to block his promotion.
The Court permitted a departmental inquiry but stayed the suspension until further hearing.
